29th Judicial District Court returns to Courthouse




All court appearances for all divisions of court in the 29th Judicial District will now take place at the courthouse in Hahnville located at 15045 River Road. All courtrooms have been updated and are ready to hold court.

On November 21, 2022, three en banc orders were issued for management of certain property damage suits arising from Hurricane Ida in the 29th Judicial District Court. The orders are as follows:

ABOUT THE 29th JDC

The 29th Judicial District Court has original jurisdiction of all civil, criminal, and juvenile matters, and appellate jurisdiction from all justice of the peace courts in St. Charles Parish, Louisiana. There are three elected divisions of court, each having general jurisdiction. In addition, the Court maintains a specialty court program - Adult Drug Court - as well as a Families In Need of Services diversion program.
